One thing left to do

On her 85th birthday, Cay decided there was just one thing she still wanted to do — so, with the help of her daughter Roxanne, she went and did it alongside her 21-year-old grandson, James.

After that first leap, there was no stopping her. One by one, Cay worked her way through her bucket list — swimming with dolphins, paragliding with her son Scott, go-kart racing with Roxanne and her son Sëan, and riding on a Segway — proof that it's never too late to start.

Orcas1949

A pioneering spirit ran in the family

Cay's sister, Marte, was a pioneer in her own right. In 1949, she moved to the wilderness of Orcas Island, Washington, with her partner. They lived in a tent and built a cabin by hand — the place Marte called home for the rest of her life.
